Al DeGuzman
I cannot believe anyone could come to a page of a guy like this and actually say they were sorry for what happened to him. He worshiped someone like Eric Harris - ONE OF THE COLUMBINE MURDERERS! He was planning to commit MASS MURDER and you people act like he is friggin Robin Hood or something. He had all of the guns and bombs ready to KILL PEOPLE WITH. Maybe even SOME OF YOU! There is NOTHING to admire about this guy, any mental illness he may or may not had is beside the point.

I am not losing one iota of sleep over the fact that this guy killed himself in prison. We are a lot better off without someone like him around.

Emotions... [Dec. 15th, 2004|10:57 am]
Al DeGuzman

Whenever I think of Al I get so choked up that I can't function. I need to finish his website, but I need to make an actual layout not just some piece of crap thing thrown together in 10 minutes to get it up. People can't fix what they don't understand. They don't even realize that what Al needed fixed wasn't a result of nothing from nowhere. It was what he saw. People can run around acting the way they do and we all see what they are. We see the negativity and we see what it does to people. Some of us end up getting homicidal and killing people because of that. People need to wake up and realize that it wasn't meaningless murder. There was a reason, and you don't have to be sick to kill. Why won't people attempt to understand that just as negative emotions lead them to destructive acts, those same negative emotions lead others to kill? The action in the end doesn't matter, the emotions and intensity of emotions is what matters when you are trying to understand people like Al.

I don't know if Scott knew Al was really going to do it, I am not completely sold on the wanting to get caught theory only because I know the way Al thought. He was consumed with narcissism (although for a damn good reason) There are only two reasons a person would do what he did. Wanting to be caught, or feeling as though they can get away with anything. Something more to leave a lasting mark on the world. Was he in between? I don't know. He's gone now. All my letters will just sit in the pile collecting dust. Perhaps someday I will send them to his friends.

When I get the website up I am going to post the address in every bathroom at school. Both schools, DeAnza and West Valley. I want people to learn. I want to educate them.

After the presentation I just did on Columbine in my Criminal Investigation class, I have decided that I am not going to limit my education to Columbine on the net like it is now. I won't find as many Al people as Columbine people because Al's screen name isn't as well known as Eric's. But I am going to use it to educate people. Someday someone will end up finding me and make it worth it. I am not going to limit my education to the internet, either. I have always had a passion for educating people about things that they don't even want to understand but things that set them back by not understanding just that. I've found my niche. Fuck money, I am still finishing my degree in Web Development for the purposes of making my own sites the best they can be, and being able to work at home and to give other people's ideas life... but it will also free up my time so that I can educate more people.

If anyone wants to contribute to the Al site let me know. I have a few other projects I am working on (when do I not?) but I will start the new layout soon.

Al DeGuzman was so intelligent [Aug. 23rd, 2004|12:06 am]
Al DeGuzman

It's such a shame to see him gone, now. I remember being at City Espresso and Veronica drove up and told me she had been sent home from school because of a bomb threat. I wasn't too interested until she mentioned Columbine. She told me that someone had threatened to "pull a Columbine" on the college. I thought, of course, of three certain people that it could have been. I was wrong. I was thinking of idiots. Stupid people, losers, low-life's who couldn't hold an intelligent conversation with you if their life depended on it... it wasn't until later that I found out who it was, and learned about him. The truth about him.

Honestly, if it weren't for SCOTT BERBICK I would not be so open minded about things. I am open minded to begin with, but Scott's website for AL FORCED me to understand something that I didn't understand previously. Things I thought I knew. But I had no idea. THANK YOU SCOTT.

Also, in the DeAnza livejournal community, Johnny and I posted about Al and we got POSITIVE feedback. That is awesome. That just rocks.

Al, I will never forgive myself for not sending you those letters but all I can do is move forward. I just hope you will share with me now, your intricate talent for articulating the way you did........ man Al, I admire your talents. I wish you were here to take photos of the beach... and the water... your art is inspiring.
